What is checked during a pacemaker or ICD check-up?
During follow-up, we read your device’s data using a special programmer. Among other things, we check the battery status, lead function, stored arrhythmias and the current settings. The examination is painless and usually takes only a few minutes.
How often should a pacemaker or defibrillator be checked?
Regular checks ensure that the device is working properly, the battery is sufficient and the programming is optimal. Depending on the device and individual situation, check-ups every 3 to 12 months are usually recommended. Our follow-up care is structured and in line with current guidelines.
When should I book a pacemaker or ICD check at short notice?
Please make an appointment promptly if you develop new symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, fainting or shortness of breath. The device should also be checked promptly after an ICD shock. Our team will be happy to arrange an appointment at short notice.
